Because of jumbo loan requirements, declining markets, income restrictions and a lack of stated income loans, the luxury residential real estate market has fallen out of favor with traditional financing sources. As a result, more and more borrowers are having to turn to private mortgage sources for hard money loans on their real estate. Normally, that wouldn't be such a big deal.
